Beneath the Southern Cross exhibition


Over the next few weeks the library will be exhibiting the fantastic work of Stavros Pippos. The exhibition, Beneath the Southern Cross, promotes the book of the same name with selected prints on display for all to see (and purchase). For more information on the work click here.

the week ends with 3 deaths


It has been a busy week with lots happening but the '3 DEATHS' on the staff notice board certainly got my attention. Well, it appears that we have 'lost' 3 of our aquatic dwellers. Helen has put up the notice (and the correct spelling is 'algae', Helen) and the aquarium is a lonelier place now...

We had an emergency evacuation drill yesterday and all went well (apart from the fact that some library users weren't in any rush to leave the building!).

more shelving...


A large expanse of slat wall shelving was installed yesterday between the youth lounge and study area. The contractors had a bit of a wrestle to get the panels into the support poles but were (eventually) able to do it.

Goodbye Panasonic ... hello Sharp Aquos! The TV in the youth area has been updated (and up-scaled - now 52 inches of flat-screen real estate). I'm sure the Pana will find a (happy) new home somewhere in the school...
