Last week we saw the change-over of computers in the public areas (public PC's and OPACs) and in the work areas. All went smoothly!

Jim Fenemore's exhibition - Seaford Rail Extension - A Photographer's Account - is on display in the library until 9th September (with an artist talk on 5th September).

mouse attack

The mouse (or mice) have the upper hand at the moment, eating through cables and causing havoc... but the pest control people are coming tomorrow - let's see how they run!

floor cleaning

Saturday afternoon and we are at the library so that the tiled floors (entrances) can be cleaned...

changes this week

 The self service kiosks have been rebadged (and now display the correct information)...

The 'master' PC has been repositioned so that it can now also be used as an on-line catalogue (when staff need to show customers how to reserve items, etc). This is a temporary measure (until the service counter area goes through a redesign).

A new location (and new desk) for the check-in machine...

the new sort assistant has taken the place of the old check-in machine!

RFID training

Staff received training (today) on the use of the RFID kiosks and sort assistant. Getting closer to being ready to go live!

Today we removed the security gates from both entrances in preparation for the installation of new ones (tomorrow). The old gates will be removed from the premises tomorrow and the RFID equipment installed and connected.

The keys to the laptop trolley were lost and so we had to replace the locks. Job done!

Parents Scot and Kylie came to Seaford library with their daughter Abigail (a local ‘heart kid’) to present a signed copy of Patch the brave heart lion. This book will soon be available for loan.

Adult nonfiction collection (bar the ones out on loan) has been completed. We are now starting on the (smaller) children's nonfiction collection.
